Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
After a seven-year-long delay, the SSC has announced that it will be submitting an affidavit to the Calcutta High Court regarding the Upper Primary Education Board recruitment process. According to the SSC Chairman, Siddharth Majumdar, the affidavit will be submitted on Thursday or Friday this week.
In a recent press conference held at Acharya Sadan, Majumdar disclosed that in 2016, a total of 14,052 job seekers applied for recruitment in Upper Primary. After being interviewed, a panel list was prepared. However, in 2020, the Calcutta High Court suspended the recruitment process and instructed that every job seeker, including some additional candidates, be interviewed by November 2022.
As the interview process takes time till November 4, the SSC could not present it to the court. Hence, the SSC will submit the affidavit to the court this week, and apply to be given a hearing date next week. If the Calcutta High Court gives the hearing date, the SSC will submit the merit list of 14,052 job candidates and MR seat and interview documents.
The SSC Chairman is hopeful that the documents submitted, along with all the information of 14,052 candidates, will satisfy the court. And as a result, these job seekers will be appointed quickly according to the order of the division bench.
